Teen Summer Programs

We also have programs at the library throughout the summer for everyone going into grades 6-12. You don't have to be signed up for the summer reading program to attend. All programs are free.

Play Dungeons & Dragons, compete to decorate the most stylish book bag in Project Bookbag, and decorate cupcakes and cookies to win the Iron Pastry competition. At our new program, Candy Chaos, we will answer candy trivia questions, make candy sushi, and more. There will also be movies and video games galore!

What's the Teen Summer Reading Program?

Anyone going into grades 6-12 can sign up for our teen summer reading program. Come to any of our three libraries to sign up. We'll give you your first summer reading game card, plus a gift for signing up.

If you complete your first game card by noon on Wednesday, June 24, you will receive a pass to our first Summer Extravaganza - dinner at the 50th Street Caboose on Thursday, June 25.

If you complete two game cards by noon on Wednesday, July 22, you will receive a pass to our second Summer Extravaganza - a night out at Movies 16 on Thursday, July 23. Titles and times will be announced later. Harry Potter will definitely be one of the choices!

If you complete three game cards by noon on Wednesday, August 12, you will receive a pass to the final Summer Extravaganza - a day at Main Event on Thursday, August 13. We will meet at Main Event and enjoy bowling, lunch, games and golf.

There will also be prize drawings throughout the summer. The more game cards you complete, the better your chances of winning!
