2nd extravaganza update

We wanted to update you on Tuesday's extravaganza.  The times that Tinseltown had for San Andreas changed a few days ago so what we had listed are no longer correct.  We wanted to let everyone know that these are the correct times:

San Andreas (rated PG-13) - around 2 hours

 10:15 a.m. (Note:  starts 15 minutes after first lobby time)

 1:20 p.m. (Note:  starts 35 minutes after second lobby time)

 4:20 p.m. (Note: starts 20 minutes after last lobby time)

 7:20 p.m.  (Note:  3.5 hours after last lobby time)

If you have already RSVPed for this movie, we will be giving you a call tomorrow to see what time you would like.  Or you can respond to this post.

Bring your pass into the lobby to exchange it for a ticket from a Library Staff member during these times only.   If you miss a lobby time, you will have to wait for another time.

      1:00 p.m.  Note: Starts 15 minutes after second lobby time

      10:20 a.m   Note: Starts 20 minutes after first lobby time
      1:15 p.m.   Note: Starts 30 minutes after second lobby time

Note:  There are a lot of movies debuting that night so the theater will probably be crazy after 6 p.m.  If you would like a later time (you will need to pick up your tickets during one of the lobby times listed above), send an email to lubbocklibrarysrp@outlook.com for titles/times.    

Titles may sell out like they did last time so the earlier you RSVP, the earlier we can purchase tickets.  Thanks!

Comic Book Boot Camp this Thursday at Godeke

Calling all artists and comic book lovers.  We will have a variety of art supplies on hand to create a comic layout.  Star Comics will be out to talk about the comic book industry.  See you on Thursday!

Villain Defense Seminar with Pittman's Academy

Tuesday (6/23) will be our next teen program.  Pittman's Academy will be out to do a Villain aka Bully Defense Seminar.  There are still a few spots on our wait list so call tomorrow.  If you have already registered, we will call tomorrow to confirm.

Thanks to everyone who RSVPed early!  If you have not RSVPed for your title and time, it is not too late.  You can respond on this blog post.  The titles and times are listed in a blog post from last week.

As a reminder, library staff will be in the lobby tomorrow to exchange your pass for a ticket during the following Lobby Times:

9:40 to 10:10 a.m.

12:25 to 12:40 p.m.

3:20 to 3:40 p.m.

Iron Pastry's registration and wait list is full.  If you RSVPed for the event and cannot make it, leave a comment below.  We will be calling teens on Wednesday to confirm that you will still be attending and to let those on the wait list know if there is room for them.

Here are some pictures from todays program.  Fans of graphic novels and comics....don't look to closely at the 2nd picture.  I am afraid I cannot say that no comics were hurt in the making of this program.

Posted by mahonlibrary at (time) no comments (another example could be 4 comments)

Click on no comments/ 4 comments.....

Enter your comment in the space provided.  Under the comment as drop down field, select anonymous.  Select publish.

It may work a little differently if you are signed into a google account.

New to Extravaganzas --- FAQ

Q:  How do I RSVP?
A:  By leaving a comment on this blog with your first name, library, title and time.  You can also let your library know or even email your information to:  lubbocklibrarysrp@outlook.com

Q:  When do I need to RSVP by?
A:  Before 6 p.m. on the Monday before the extravaganza.  If you need to RSVP after that, please email or leave a comment on the blog.

Q:  What are Lobby Times?
A:  These are specific times that Library Staff members will be in the Lobby of Tinseltown to exchange your passes for movie tickets.

Q:  I have my pass to the extravaganza, how do I get my ticket?
A:  During specific Lobby Times, come into the lobby at Tinseltown and find a Library Staff member in an Unmask! shirt to exchange your pass for a ticket.  Tinseltown staff do not have tickets and they cannot take your pass as a ticket.

Q:  Can my family or friends come to the movies too?
A:  Sure!  Tickets are $5 all day on Tuesday and can be purchased at the ticket window.

Q:  Will library staff be there to chaperone all movies listed?
A:  Library staff will chaperone a limited number of films.  It will be indicated near the list of titles to pick from.  Additional titles may be chaperoned due to high demand.

Q:  What if I miss my lobby time?
A:  You will need to wait for the next available lobby time and will need to select a later time

Q:  I lost my pass what do I do?
A:  Come into the lobby during lobby times.  We will have a master list of those eligible to attend.

Q:  I forgot to RSVP can I still come or I turned my card in late what do I do?
A:  Just find a library staff member at Tinseltown during one of the lobby times listed and we can help you.  You may need to wait a few minutes if we need to purchase you a ticket.

Superhero Science with Science Spectrum

Registration for Superhero Science is closed.  If you have already registered to attend Superhero Science, it will be this Thursday, June 11 at Groves Branch Library. 

1st Teen Extravaganza

Be sure to turn in your first game card to the library you signed up before the end of Saturday, June 13.  You will receive a pass to the extravaganza this Tuesday, June 16.  We will be meeting at Tinseltown.  We will be seeing Jurassic World, San Andreas, Pitch Perfect 2, Avengers: Age of Ultron, or Tomorrowland.  If you can't make it, be sure to get your card turned in anyway so that you get entered into our prize drawing.  Winners will be contacted after the extravaganza.  Titles and Times will be posted soon.

Afternoon Board Games at Godeke

Come play chess and other board games today (6/8) at Godeke Branch this afternoon at 3 p.m.   Play games we have or bring your own.

Villain Defense Seminar at Mahon

If you missed yesterday's program at Patterson there will be another at Mahon in a few weeks.  Registration will open up Monday, June 8.  Here is a picture of the instructors from Pittman's Academy of Martial Arts.

Superhero Science at Groves

Space is very limited for this event.  If you have not signed up yet you will probably want to call today.  We will also take a wait list on this program as well.   Hands on experiments with Science Spectrum.  June 11 at 2 pm.
