Tickets question

We have had questions about getting tickets for adults:

Once you RSVP for your teens, a library staff member will purchase tickets and either email/post on the blog with their seat numbers. Parents can then go and purchase tickets for themselves and other children at Tinseltown or you can order them online at Cinemark.com(there is a $1.50 fee per ticket). We usually go once a day to purchase tickets.  We are trying to make sure to buy tickets (when possible) with space around the seats for parents/friends/siblings to purchase seats.  Seating may become limited closer to Tuesday.

We see your emails and blog posts but will not respond until we have a seat number for your teen.   We know this is a little confusing so please do not hesitate to email or blog questions.

4th Extravaganza

We have times for the last Extravaganza.  We are going to Tinseltown this time.  Make sure to turn in your 4th card by this Friday, August 4 and to RSVP by Saturday, August 5.  The sooner you RSVP, the better the chance of you getting to see the movie at the time you pick.  If you RSVP on this blog, make sure to check back to see what your seat assignment will be.  If your movie time is sold out, we will also indicate that here and you will need to select another time.  Thank you for having patience with us as we try this new format.  Next year we have been told all theaters in town will be going to this format so this will be a trial run for us.  

You can RSVP on the blog or via email.  Be sure to tell us your name, library location, movie title and time that you want to see.  

We are not sure how exchanges will work here with the reserved seating.  So for this movie, if we purchase you a ticket, we will not be able to exchange it for you.  Also if you need a wheelchair accessible seat, please let us know so that we can get you a seat on the main row.  

This weeks programs

Don't forget that we are showing the new Beauty and the Beast today (July 25) at Mahon at 3:00 pm. Also this week we have Lubbock Has Talent.  Call 775-3362 to register.  If you do not want to participate, you can always come be an audience member and watch fellow teens show off their talent.

Next week we will have Glow Party at Mahon on Tuesday, August 1 at 3:00 pm.   Don't forget to turn in your fourth game card by the 4th to get a pass to the last Extravaganza.

Catapult Wars will take place on Wednesday at Mahon at 3:00 p.m.

If you haven't turned in your 3rd game card it is not too late.  Just come by your library location today before closing to get a pass.  At this point you will need to RSVP for your title by email only (email is lubbocklibrarysrp@outlook.com).  You may have a little wait time tomorrow in the lobby while we pick up additional tickets.

If something comes up tomorrow and you cannot make it, please contact your library or send an email to let us know that you cannot make it.  Also if something comes up and you miss your time, just come find us during a lobby time and we will see what we can do. 

Please do not contact Movies 16 for help because they will not be able to help you.

On Monday, June 26 join us for Wii games at Patterson Branch at 3:00 p.m.

REGISTER for Murder Mystery (Groves Branch) & Lubbock Has Talent (Godeke) on Monday, June 26 when they open at noon.  Give them a call or stop by to register.  Space is limited.

Join us for Kindness Rocks at Mahon on Thursday, June 29 in the morning....no sleeping in that day.  Come decorate rocks.

Extravaganza update

Due to the construction at Tinseltown they still do not have times listed yet.  If we go to Movies 16 you will not get to see Wonder Woman or Pirates of the Caribbean so we are going to wait another day before posting times and titles to select from.  Thanks for your patience and keep checking back.

1st Extravaganza

Don't forget to turn in your first game card by friday and to rsvp by Saturday.

Some people have had a few questions about the program:

*Why are there changes to the deadlines for turning in cards/rsvping?  We typically go to Tinseltown for our extravaganzas and you may have all seen that they are under construction.  They do not have as many seats available as they usually do and they have assigned seating.  We want to be able to give you the best options so we are waiting to see what each theater is going to be showing before selecting the location.  If we do go to Tinseltown be aware that seating will be extremely limited so you may not be able to see your first selection for movie and time if they sell out.  That is why we are asking you to rsvp via the blog or email so that way we can get back to you if we run into any problems.  As soon as we have a ticket for you, we will let you know.  If you rsvp late we may not be able to purchase you a ticket for that show and you will have a longer wait during lobby times to get a ticket.

*Passes (tickets) are nontransferable.  If you cannot make the event unfortunatley you cannot give your pass to a friend or family member.  But you will still be entered into the first prize drawing and we will contact you if you win.

*For the reading game, what if I do not have an e-reader and cannot read an e-book?  You can always substitute reading a book for any of the activities listed (so do not worry if you cannot read an e-book).

*What do I need to do to RSVP for the movie?  Once the times, titles, and location are posted on the blog, at your library. or on instagram, you can send an email or post on this blog with the following information:

Name
Library branch (Godeke, Groves, Mahon, or Patterson) that you signed up for the reading game
Movie title you would like to see
Movie time
