4th Extravaganza

Our last extravaganza is next Tuesday.  We will be back at Tinseltown.  If you are just joining the program:  read the post from June 13 about how to RSVP for a movie extravaganza.

There may be a day or so delay from when you RSVP to when your ticket is purchased.  You can email via blog or email.  I will respond with your seat number as soon as I have your ticket purchased.

Please remember that the staff at Tinseltown are not part of the extravaganzas and cannot help you with tickets, passes, or missed lobby times.  Tinseltown staff can assist you if someone sits in your seat.  The only time that you can exchange your pass for a ticket is during one of the lobby times in the orange box.  If you miss the lobby times before your movie, you will need to come to a later lobby time (unless that was the last lobby time for the day).  We will have to buy you a new ticket and with limited seating you may get stuck close to the screen or having to attend another movie.

For teachers, band students, athletes......  I ran out of room to list all of the times.  If you need a later time than is listed (there are several 10 p.m. showings).   RSVP via email.

There is another movie coming out that day called Dog Days but it is not rated.  I am sure this one will sell out quickly but I am not sure yet if it will be PG-13 or R.  This may be an option as well.  If you want this one, please RSVP via email.

3rd Extravaganza

You can pick up a printed copy of this at your branch starting tomorrow.  Be sure to RSVP quickly for best seats.  Please let us know your name, library location, movie title, time, and if you want a seat near another teen.  Hotel Transylvania 3 is going to sell out quickly since they did not have many options.  We will post if anything sells out or runs low.  To RSVP, you can post to this blog or send an email to the address listed below.  You will not receive a response from me until I have purchased your seat.  In an earlier post we have more information about the RSVP process.  Remember we will only be in the lobby during the times listed below for you to get your ticket so you may want to keep that in mind when selecting a movie.

2nd Extravaganza update

I want to thank everyone for RSVPing early.  Some of the shows are filling up fast.  There is very little room left in the 10:15 am & 6:25 pm Incredibles 2 so you may want to select another time.

If you missed the RSVP deadline, it is not too late.   Since a lot of the shows are filling up please rsvp with a 1st, 2nd & 3rd option.

You will not hear back from me until I have purchased your ticket.  Since the RSVP deadline has past, you may not hear back from us if you RSVP on Monday.

If you forget to RSVP:   Come to one of the lobbytimes.  Seating is going to be extremely limited for some shows and you may experience a long wait before we can get free to purchase your ticket.

If you forgot to turn in your second game card, it is not to late.  Mahon is open on Sunday for those who signed up there.  All four locations will be  open on Monday (Godeke and Groves do not open until noon on Monday & Tuesday).

2nd Extravaganza

Here is information for next weeks Extravaganza.  You will need to RSVP by Saturday.  The earlier your RSVP, the better the chance of you getting to see the movie of your choice.  Make sure to RSVP with your name (first name last initial), branch, movie title, & time.  You can RSVP to the blog or via email.  If you have questions there is a how to RSVP post that you can refer to.  You can pick up a copy of this at your library.  Be sure to check back to see what seat we purchase for you (so that your family/friends can buy seats near you) or to answer any questions we may have for you.

How to RSVP for movie extravaganzas?

Here is some information about how to RSVP for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Extravaganzas:

*The week before each extravaganza we will post the location, times and titles of movies to select from.  There will also be copies available to pick up at each library location and a photo on Instagram.  You will not RSVP until the list has been posted.

*You will RSVP to the blog or send an email.  We will need a name, branch, movie title and time.  If at any point you have a problem RSVPing or have a question, send an email.  We know sometime the blog does not play nicely so when in doubt send an email.

*Most of the theaters have gone to a reserved seating system with limited seating.  If you can RSVP by Thursday/Friday before the extravaganza you will have a better chance of seeing the movie at the time you want to see it.

*As soon as your movie ticket is purchased, we will send you an email or post back on the blog with your seat number.  This way you, and your family and/or friends can purchase their tickets in advance to have a better chance of sitting near you.  Those who tried to purchase additional tickets the day of the event last year found many shows were already sold out.

*If we cannot purchase a ticket for the time/title you want, we will contact you for another option so be sure to check the blog/email.

*If you RSVP late, you may not get a good seat or be able to see your first movie selection.  We may also not have time to contact you with your seat number.

*If you have friends in the reading program and all of you want to sit together, please let us know when you RSVP.

*How do I pick up my movie ticket:  We will post lobby times for each extravaganza.  Library staff will be in the lobby of the theater during specific times ONLY on the day of the extravaganza.  You will bring your extravaganza pass and exchange it for your ticket during one of those times.  If you are running late and miss the lobby time before your movie, you will have to wait until the next available lobby time and pick a new movie/time (seating may be limited).  If you miss the last lobby time, you will unfortunately not be able to see a movie for that extravaganza.

*I forgot to RSVP what do I do:  Show up to a lobby time and once we have handed out tickets to everyone who has RSVPed, we will purchase a ticket for you.  Note this could lead to a long wait time for you and your movie options and times may be limited.

*What happens if your ticket has been purchased and you need a different time?  The theaters have different exchange policies.  Some will allow for ticket exchanges without any paperwork and some require a library staff member to sign for the exchange.  Depending on the process, you could be delayed.  We HIGHLY encourage you to RSVP for the movie and time you want to ensure you do not miss the movie.

*If you RSVP and then cannot make it, please send us an email to tell us that you will not be able to attend.

We are still new to the reserved seating change so bear with us.  As we go if we find an easier way to RSVP, we will post changes on the blog.

1st Teen Prize Drawing

We had our first prize drawing this week.   We will be contacting you soon if you won and did not pick up your prize at the extravaganza.  Congrats to all the winners and we want to thank all of our sponsors.  There will be more chances to win this summer.  Make sure to turn in your game cards even if you cannot attend the extravaganzas to make sure you get entered into the drawings.
