Movie Matinee

Help us pick the movie that will be shown Tuesday, August 4 at 2:00 p.m. at Mahon Library. Pick from the list below.

Coraline
Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix
The Spiderwick Chronicles
Transformers
Hotel for Dogs
Pink Panther 2

We will also be serving refreshments and you can suggest some of your favorite movie candy. Maybe you like Junior Mints or Milk Duds. The candy that gets the most suggestion just may be served at the program.

  1. I am a sister who has guardianship of her little brother and I just wanted to give my deepest thanks to the lubbock public library system for all that you guys do during the summer. My brother has been attending things all summer and has really had a good time. My husband and I actually sat in on Who killed Fizban and had a really good laugh. I also noticed that there was food and I just think it is so amazing that you guys provided food when otherwise some of those kids probably wouldn't have had a meal. Needless to say I a deeply grateful and would like to know how we as a family can contribute, may it be financially or service. As for the movie matinee my brother would like to watch THE SPIDERWICK CHRONICLES.

ps I can't figure out this profile thing so whoever reads this would like to let me know about us helping out just post to this comment and I will check it often! Thanks

  2. We are very glad that your brother has been having a good time this summer. The Who Killed Fizban program was a lot of fun and we are glad that you could come. If you want to call us at 775-2838 or send us an email at mahonps@gmail.com with your contact information, someone will get back to you on various ways to help. The main contributor to the summer reading program is the Friends of the Library. They fund all of the programs that we have and pay for the prizes and extravaganzas. Anyone over 16 can volunteer to help them prepare for their booksales which this year will be November 6, 7, & 8. The proceeds go to fund programs and other items for the library. Thanks again and we will see you next week.
